Matua, the first-ever Sauvignon Blanc in New Zealand, had lost its voice as a company and lost ground to its competitors. A new logo and packaging design elevated Matua – Maori for ‘head of the community’ – to its rightful place, with a striking contemporary color palette and graphics. Matua was the most successful launch in Treasury Estate wine history: sales increased 50% to 278,000 cases and continues to show year-on-year double digit growth ever since.
